Our church's Adopt-A-School program at Idlewild Elementary School, a neighborhood public school, serves about 100 elementary students who have been identified by teachers as needing extra help in reading, science, math, social studies or writing. Each week during the school year, our dedicated tutors spend a hour or two at the school working with one student. We also have a Community Readers program, with great volunteers reading books to kindergarten classes. Teachers and school staff are supported and encouraged in the wonderful work they do. For learn how you can be a tutor or mentor, contact  committee chair Kathy James or call the church at 726-4681.
